Management assistant

General

Bruno Piatti AG takes on eight trainees on a three-year basic training contract as management assistants. Trainees move between different departments every six months, and are instructed in areas such as assembly, purchasing, marketing, product management and sales. The training period is therefore varied and interesting, and you can discover the areas of work that particularly suit you, and that you find enjoyable. Bruno Piatti provides training in the machines, electrical and metal-working industry.

You will learn how to write letters using modern business language, as well as how to carry out administrative tasks and hold focused discussions with customers. You will also learn about the basic technical details behind our products.

As a potential trainee management assistant, you will need the following:

  • To enjoy computer work
  • Reliability
  • Willingness to learn

College

E-Profile – Extended basic training

The vocational college offers three profiles, but Bruno Piatti only provides for the E-Profile and M-Profile. In comparison with the basic training level, extended basic training will expand your knowledge of the economy and society, and add an additional language.

During your training period, you will be instructed in the following areas:

  • Economy and society
  • Accountancy
  • German
  • French
  • English
  • ICA – Information, Communication and Administration
  • Sport

Trainees attend the KV Business School in Zurich for two days every week during the first two years, and for one day a week in their third year.

M-Profile – Extended basic training with “Berufsmatur” (equivalent to a vocational A-level)
The “Berufsmatur” adds the subjects of history and mathematics to the extended basic training course. You will also need to choose an additional supplementary subject every year.
Two language courses, each lasting two weeks, also form an obligatory component of the “Berufsmatur”.
You will take the DELF language diploma and the First Certificate in both French and English.
In contrast to the E-Profile, this option means that you will also continue to attend the college twice every week in the third year.

  • What you’ll need to enclose with your application:
  • Letter of application
  • CV
  • Copy of secondary school report card

As a result, you will acquire the basic techniques used for manufacturing in wood, such as sawing, planing and gluing, as well as the techniques involved in handling plastics and metal.

ICT trainee

General

Instruction for ICT trainees is organised in modules. Each module deals with a particular topic in ICT, such as server operating systems or internet connections. There are four different modules in each semester, plus other external modules that are spread individually across all four years and carried out in Winterthur. Each module is graded at the end, and the average of all the marks plus the interactive project task is used to produce the final training result.

Training

Before you can begin training with Piatti, however, you will need to have completed the basic training year with the ZLI (the Zürcher Lehrbetriebsverband ICT). This basic training year is a course that provides you with the fundamental skills involved in information technology. The basic training year comprises the first year of the training period, and you can only start at Piatti for the second year of the course.

As a trainee with Piatti, you will become familiar with the areas around support, networks and the web. A constant stream of new challenges means that every day is an exciting event. In ICT, you will also have a great deal of contact with other members of staff, either by telephone or face-to-face on site.

What qualities do you need?

The main requirement for an ICT trainee is to be open and communicative. In addition, you also need to be willing to learn new things all the time, since ICT is constantly changing and advancing.

Application:

Piatti does not accept direct applications. We take our trainees from the ZLI.
