Piatti focuses on sustainability

Sustainability in the kitchen is based on four main principles:

  • 1. Materials

Piatti reduces the amount of material required using new lightweight panels and optimizing structure. Alongside a simplified method of handling, the amount of pollutants generated during disposal has also been reduced. When it comes to wood, Piatti recommends that their customers choose fast growing renewable types of wood that can be sourced near to the production location. This reduces the pressure on the environment resulting from logistics and high transport costs.

  • 2. Health

Our lightweight wooden panels use less binder than conventional particleboard. Glossy surfaces require less detergent. Smooth, nonporous surfaces such as stainless steel means there are fewer germs - an important factor for allergy sufferers.

  • 3. Energy consumption

A lot of energy can be saved in a modern kitchen. It starts with the choice of electrical appliances. Water conservation devices minimize water consumption. Air recirculating hoods release less warm air into the outside world.

  • 4. Embodied energy

Piatti has been gradually reducing the complexity of a kitchen construction project. New designs, simplified planning and optimized ordering processes reduce energy costs and the cost of nonconformity in all areas.
